Still loving this bargain stuff...

Well, I had another really good shopping day. I know you guys probably get sick of hearing, but here goes... $167.00 of stuff for $60. I have to tell myself I don't need anything else, this is addicting! My New Years goal is to get our food storage, and so far, we're pretty on the ball!

Grocery Savings...!

Well, I love a bargain. I am really jealous when I hear about these people that get their groceries for nothing! I have always dreamed about doing this. I know, I probably sound like a dork, but I am really into it. I have been checking out a few websites lately trying to score some great stuff. I really like this girls blog I found... www.asweetsale.blogspot.com, and she has a link to grocery smarts.com. I also like pinching your pennies.com. Anyway, today I went shopping and got a couple really good deals. Overall my grand total was $80.85. After savings I spent $45.04. Its not great, not compared to lots of success stories I hear, but hey, its a start. I hope to get really good at this. I went to Walmart and Smiths. Walmart always gives me a hard time about printable coupons, so I started carrying their coupon policy in my purse. They can't argue with that. :) Heres a picture of what I got....

The best deals I found today were:
Progresso soups $1.25 and with the printable coupons they were $.15 each
Kashi Cereal Bars $3.00 w/coupon they were $1.00
Wacky Mac Pasta was $.75 after coupon
and the best deal, and this is funny since we don't have a cat.. (my mom does:) Purina Cat Food $3.98 w/coupon it was free!

The rest of my stuff either had just regular coupons, and alot of it I got a smiths using my card. Like red, seedless grapes were $.99 LB. and gallons of milk were $1.67. Thats the lowest I've seen that in awhile!

Hope that didn't bore you all, I could go on and on all day. I love this :)

Update on us....

Well, it seems like this month has flown by. We have stayed busy, and thank goodness not had any more scares with the pregnancy :) I am such a proud mom, I have to tell you Ryder is finally potty trained. It's been a long time coming, but it is totally worth all the stress I went through. (and I am sure he went through alot himself) It was one of my new years resloutions, and I am shocked that it has finally happened. The funny part is, all it took was boxer briefs. Who knew? I thought all kids liked big boy underwear, but Ryder 'prefers' the boxer kind. If I would've known, this would've been easier. But, good job Ryder, we are SO proud of you!

We took Ryder bowling for the 1st time, one of his potty rewards. He loved it, and ended up winning me and Erik. Erik thinks its because he had bumpers and used the guide thing, but I really think he is a bowler, not to mention me and Erik stink at bowling! And he keeps telling me, 'mom, its not a bowling ball in your tummy'! Sure feels like one!

My sister-in-law Kristin who lives in Denver, was in town last week for work. She works for GE, doing demos with ultrasound machines to doctor offices and such. Anyway, we were lucky and she came over to our house and let us have a peek at our cute little man, who I might add looks Exactly like his big brother Ryder! We had alot of fun. My other sister-in-law Kami came over too, we had a good time. Thanks so much to Kristin, we LOVE your job! :)

So there ya have it, our life in a nutshell!

I can't help myself....

Okay, so I crave donuts. All the time. Since yesterday, I have wolfed down three. I know, I have to gain some control over this. To make things worse, we went to Tasty's for dinner. (YUM, I LOVE IT, and yes I make Erik drive me to Layton quite often for these wonderful little treats) We were like the last people there before close, and I finished my food and donut, and I really couldn't even think about leaving without taking some donuts to go. So I ask the girl if I can get a few to take home. She says, well, we throw them all away so how many do you want?? Are you KIDDING ME? wrong thing to ask a big pregnant woman. I wanted so bad to say, just box um all up, I'll take them all, but I can see Erik in the corner of my eye, and I can tell he is sooo embarrassed... So, I left with 3 donuts. I just feel so bad all the rest went to waste. Watch out Tasty's, I might be stopping by ever night about 6:55PM!
(p.s.... my favorite is just like the picture, white cake, white frosting, sprinkles... how pathetic)

Oh, the funny things they say...

After our Ward Conference that my dad spoke at, I asked Ryder "What did Papa John talk about?"... he says "Miracles". I asked him if he knew what a miracle was. He says, "Ya mom, we talk about them in school all the time. Triangles, Rectangles, Miracles."

After falling at the library and getting a pretty bad carpet burn, Ryder was hysterical. He was bawling, "mom, am I gunna have a scab?" "SCABS ARE NOT MY FRIENDS!"

During the annual Grandchildren nativity play, Ryder, who was NOT A SHEPHERD, he was BATMAN, says right in the middle, "batman lives in the dark, Batman lives in a cave." Then, when the wise men are bringing their gifts, Ryder runs right down front and says, "I forgot a present for Jesus!" He runs out of the theatre and comes back with a pack of yellow play-doh. Silly Shepherd, I mean.... Batman :)

"Mom, did you know batman found a catwoman? and guess what, they kissed."

I ask Ryder what kind of donut he want....? "A glazer long stick." (only a donut lover like me would know that he means a long twisted glaze donut!)

I was yelling cause the neighbor had his loud truck going in his driveway for like 10 minutes. I say, what a dummy. A while later Ryder out of nowhere, "mom, whats a dummy?"

I was so stressed the other day. In the car Ryder says, "mom, are you done being frustrated?' It was so cute.

The night Ryder got his cast off we asked him if it was good to have it off...? He says, "Mom, its an easier day!" I thought it was funny. Sometimes I feel like I am talking to someone my own age.

We have had quite the time with this cast on Ryder's leg. Yesterday morning I found him sitting in the kitchen with a butter knife down it and he was just sawing away... "Mom, I'm gunna get it off." A few minutes after that he tells Erik, "I have another idea." This time he is holding a pair of pliars. What a determined little man! (update: the cast came off on 6/29 yea!)

Ryder is getting into trouble, I can sense it... its way to quiet.. I yell for him and he says, "Mom, I'm being a good little monkey." (maybe blame this on all the curious george??!)

Ryder while we are driving home in the car: "mom, can I have some toke (coke) when we get home?"

Me: "no, its time for bed when we get home."

Ryder: "oh, this is going to be a problem"

(funny little boy, I have no idea where he gets it!)

Ryder is thinking this nursing thing is a little strange. He just will stare at me when I feed Madden. I tried to explain that Madden gets his milk from mommy. Ryder says, "I get my milk from a barn." It was pretty cute :)

Last night Ryder and me were sitting on the couch. He loves to pat and kiss my tummy. He was talking to Madden, and then looked up at me... "mom, you look like a Planet." Oh, Thanks Ryder, I feel like a planet too:)

Ryder's latest phrase: "Oh my gosh, that's Wonderful!" (he says this all the time, even if its just when I ask if he wants Mac and Cheese for lunch! I have no idea where he got it, but we laugh everytime:)

Ryder really likes to give hugs. His latest is at dinner, or when we all get in bed (yes, all of us together) he grabs me and Erik's head and pulls us all together and says, 'group hug.' Too Funny:)

Ryder is really into learning about his body. We have an excellent 'body' book (not too much info, but some). He loves it, mostly the poop page, watching it so in as food, and come out as poop. He told me he has pipes. Then he pointed to my bum, and says, Mom, there's your big pipe. Thanks Ryder:)

He has learned that boys don't have boobs, they are nipples. The other night while getting out of the tub, he tells daddy, I have nipples, mom has balls. (still a bit confused I'd say:)

Today while we were in the car, I was singing my little heart out to Taylor Swift. I hear Ryder in the back singing la-la-la. I just figured he was singing right along with me. I looked in my rear view mirror and to my surprise he has his eyes closed, his fingers plugging his ears and he is la-la-ing to block me out. I was totally shot down. ( I didn't think I sounded that bad:)

Ryder knows his colors. He goes through all of them... yellow, purple, pink, white, black, orange, blue, firetruck and john deere!
